Zurina Bryant Photography bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

I created this blog (back in November 2008) to do a number of things.

One - to show off some of my favourite pictures.

Two - so that you can get to know me.

Three, so that my friends can see what I’ve been doing since I’ve been missing in action in the photography world. Yes, I am obsessed with photography...join me in my journey.

Its been an amazing ride so far for me – and there’s more to come.

To find out more about me, please visit my website.

Sony Style Shoot

I was going to post this out in a few days however Oli sent me an SMS last night asking which episode had just been aired on AXN. And yikes, it was this one! Oli Pettigrew, host of Sony Style, has invited me to photograph behind the scenes when I can, as they film different episodes. This week’s episode is all about styling you and your clothes. Check it out!

Nic In The Studio

You may recall I had ‘A Day in the Studio” a couple of weeks back. I had a drop out at the last minute so invited a model who lives here in Singapore,  Shanthi Regupathy to drop by and do a couple of shots. We had been talking earlier in the week about a friend of her’s, Nic Fabian, who would be in town from Jakarta and she was interested in taking some shots with him. Nic lives in Indonesia, but is originally from Berlin. Nic, thanks for coming along to the shoot – here are a few shots – I’ll be your files through soon! Shanthi, you’re up next!:-)

shanthi - Thank You SO much zurina for the amazing shots…I absolutely love em! … only a good photgrapher shows incredible results and you are certainly is. :) July 29, 2010 – 16:56

The Doll House

Kamini Pillay of HushLush Hair & Makeup contacted me a while back to do a photo shoot for her. Kamini loves all things themed! Kamini is certainly talented in both hair and make up and works quick! She worked on three different themes for this particular shoot. Can you guess the theme of this particular scenario? Model: Nur Amira (Isn’t she just fabulous?)

Kamini Pillay (HushLush Hair & Makeup) - Love the dollhouse Shots Zurina :) Excited to see the other themes too . Would like to say that it was such a pleasure working with Zurina & team. Although it was my first time meeting you & working with you, i have to say you made it very fun for me & the models as well. Looking forward to working with u again in the future. God Bless .

XOXO

aldian iriady - Dear zurina,

Just couple of things…the model, i think she’s not that ‘cute’ to be depicted as a doll…she’s more into exotic looking.Pose, it needs to be more static and stiff..like let say, rather than she was sitting on the chair, why didn’t she just sit on the floor with two legs stretching out with head tilted, and resting on the chair (stiff-er),countenance wasn’t impressive enough as a doll, the clothes itself needs to be accecori-zed a lil’…putting a small magician hat? or…over-sized pearl necklace? she doesn’t need to hold a doll…she’s a doll rite? instead of holding a doll probably she could hold a rattan basket with plastic fruit? well it’s all just my humble opinion, i might be wrong…but i really love seeing your photos, keep on shooting, u do great sis!

PS: please pardon my english hahaha

cheers and greeting from Indonesia,

admin - Hi Aldian

I guess cute wasn’t quite the word I should have used. Point taken. Dress wise, yes I’m sure Kamini would’ve loved to have put a little hat on however for the purpose of her portfolio – which is make up and hair driven, she’s opted for making the dolls hair into a “bow” as opposed to something to cover up the hair.

Pose wise, let me see what I can do to fix that the next time we do another of this series :-)

Thanks for taking time out to say hi.

A Friend from New York

I met Emilie a year and a half ago when she first came to Singapore to live at a photographic exhibition event at The National Museum. We chatted, got on well and both have boys of the same age. She’s since moved back to New York but we’ve kept in touch via good old Facebook and I’ve looked forward to her visits each time. Before she headed over this time we scheduled a time for a photo shoot with her and her son, Tyler. Love the photos! Emilie! I wish I’d had more time with you this visit but hey…looks like I may be heading your way in September. Whoo hoo!

Todd Beltz - Great shots Zurina. Were you using the 85 on these? Love the bokeh…July 20, 2010 – 01:55

Stefan – thank you for giving up some of your precious time! I had fun…next stop New York??? PS Thanks Tiffany for the recommendation!

Todd Beltz - Hey Zurina,

Great shots. Very beautifully done. Did you use any additional lighting for this or just your flash? Your editing skills are superb…keep up the great work.
