My Work Flow

This blog post is for my clients who ask about the differences in the types of files we photographers usually work with and quality of files that we deliver to our clients.

Raw files are what most photographers set their cameras to take a photo with. Lots of data (I’m not going to bore you with information overload) which allows us to create a look and feel that we as individual photographers like to present you (the client).

So, here’s my process. Once I come back from a photo shoot I’ll download the Raw Files and my team of editing specialists begins the work flow. First of all we create a Digital Negative for all the photographs we’ll be showing you. This is what we load up on my website for you to view under your own special gallery. You can see that there is already a difference from the raw file.

Once you have seen the Digital Negatives and chosen your photos for photographic print – this is when we go into full edit mode. Blemishes are fixed. Scratches and/or bruises removed (for those who have kids who play rough). It’s at this stage we make any other changes you may require, again this is within reason – some edits take a lot more time than others and may command an additional fee. Your ordered prints have been Fully Retouched. Again, you can see the difference in quality.

The whole process takes time – thus why we have standard turnaround time allocated after each photo session. Of course, if you’re in a hurry – we can hire additional people to work on your photographs – it’ll just cost you extra.
