Introducing Joe Jayaveeran
Joe is one of Yvette Atienzia‘s partners in crime! Singapore born Joe Jayaveeran is one of the finest and renowned percussionists in Singapore. He is recognized for his wide range of hand-drumming styles in playing different types of percussion instruments from Latin, African, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Peruvian, Brazilian, and Indian Music.
Joe – the “Djembe Master” has performed for big names like Grammy Award Winner Bobby McFerrin, Nestor Torres, the legendary Gypsy Kings, Hong Kong actor and singer Jacky Cheung and many others. He has also travelled internationally and played in various international jazz festivals like Miles of Music Festival in Chicago, Seoul Drum Festival in Korea, Singapore Latin Festivals, The Heineken Jazz Series, Chijmes Jazz Festivals, Womad and the Singapore Mosaic Festivals. He has performed for world leaders like the King of Morocco, the Emir of Qatar, the Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and in countless nightspots and entertainment venues around the region like China, Japan, Sweden, and Germany. France, USA, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Highly regarded in the Singapore music industry, Joe specializes in Latin Afro-Cuban and Afro-Peruvian Hand Drum instruments like the Congas, Cajon, Djembe and other hand percussion instruments.
