Fight G – A Few Days Before SHOWDOWN

For those of you who live in Singapore you may have heard about SHOWDOWN – Inside the Ropes II. A white-collar fight night that took place last Saturday night, 12th June at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia. It was a charity event to raise money for the Pansophia Foundation – a foundation that helps to build schools for underpriviledged children of kindergarten age in Indonesia. I believe as I’m sure you all do too – that it is important to educate all children, no matter what. In the words of John and Renee Leung who are the instigators of this event “…through education we hope to stop the chain of poverty, child prostitution, begging and street vices”.

Featured in my photo slideshow are some friends of mine – Paul Foster, Brad Robinson and James Mordaunt – 3 of the white-collar boxers who competed on the night. They trained under the guidance of Darren De Silva of Fight G. I was invited into the ring to take some photographs a few days before the fight. All I could say to myself was…I hope none of the punches come anywhere near me! Congratulations guys on a wonderful night!
