Profiled: Erin Lim

Here’s the second photo I promised of Erin Lim - did you catch the first photo that I published? In that piece I promised you an interview with Erin…so here goes…
1. If you have a future work goal for yourself – what would it be?
A future goal for me is to host my own travel television series and produce non-scripted television.

2. Now tell me about something you’d like to achieve for yourself that is a personal goal? Think Bucket List.

Someday I’d like to skydive! I am terribly afraid of heights but skydiving has always enticed me and it would be a challenge but one that I’d like to conquer before I die! [Erin - This is something that's recently come up as a possibility for me to add to my list - I too am terrified of heights but a good friend recently walked me through what it's like to skydive and I'm considering putting it on my list now!]

3. I always ask if you could tell me something about yourself that no one else knows – what would it be? It can be random, fun or just something that has never been told before?

Hmmmm…Well I’m a pretty open book and don’t have any dark or silly secrets haha but I guess what many don’t know about me these days is that I used to be a total tomboy in my younger days (age 3-11) and I still am pretty spunky but I used to skateboard, wear my big brother’s clothes, love action figures and comic books, and I played practically every sport there is. Many don’t know this about me because now I’m more of a girly-girl and have learned to “clean up nicely” haha. [Erin - Love this!!!]

4. What’s your favourite quote in life? Or what motto do you live by?

Live in such a way that if anyone should speak badly of you, no one would believe it. [Erin - Love this more!!!]

5. Is there someone who inspires you? It can be someone famous or someone who’s in your life that you know.

Oprah Winfrey and my mother. Oprah because she has accomplished everything that I hope to someday accomplish and she has touched lives of so many people. She has made significant efforts in trying to change the world and has done a damn good job. My mom because she has faced adversity straight in the eyes and surmounted all challenges that ever came her way. She is strong, she is beautiful, she is pure, and she inspires me everyday to be a better person!

6. What advice would you give someone who’s starting out in your industry?

Be persistent, be determined, and be a dreamer. The industry is tough, there’s struggle along the way, and I’m no expert but I know that every effort will be worth it. The proof is out there, just ask Oli Pettigrew, Linda Black and the rest of The Collective who showed me it will be worth it and motivated me to achieve my goals.
